Let me just get this out of the way – candles are the best. Not only do they smell amazing, but they give off such a beautiful and comforting light. A candle can completely set the mood for any type of gathering, whether it’s a cozy group of friends, a romantic dinner, or a festive holiday party. But I probably didn’t need to convince you of any of this – if you’re reading this post, you’re probably as big of a candle fan as I am.
The following list contains my three favorite types of candles, that have been fixtures in my home for years. They’re all under $35, which isn’t exactly cheap, but budgetable. And all of these candles have really vibrant, lasting fragrances that don’t fade after a few burnings. I’ve noticed the opposite with some candles I’ve gotten at, say, Target – they smell really strong when they’re on the shelf, but get kind of lackluster once they’ve actually been burned. On the other hand, all of the candles I’ve listed here give you your money’s worth. They’re not overpowering, but they’ll definitely fill the room with a beautiful fragrance.
I’m pretty sure this candle is owned by every fashion icon and beauty magnate in the world (from what I’ve seen on Instagram, anyways). And for good reason – the Baies scent is slightly fruity, a little pine-y, and undeniably sophisticated. I can’t really describe it, which I consider to be a good thing. I love candles that have an indescribable, unique fragrance that can’t be duplicated. It just makes the experience that much more enjoyable!
Fruity, but not too sweet. A little bit herbal, but not too botanical. It doesn’t smell like a volcano, but it could possibly smell like the lush vegetation and flora near a tropical caldera (I’m just assuming, I’ve never been to a volcano). This was the candle I used in my first apartment senior year of college, and the scent of it will always remind me of that time of my life. Honestly, this is probably my favorite candle of all time, one that I recommend to everybody. You can get it online or at Anthropologie.
Wine-themed candles? Whoever invented this concept should probably win a Nobel Prize. I don’t know if Rewined was the first, but they’re definitely the best. What I love about this brand is that all of their candles have such unique scents, inspired by the tasting notes of different wines. And every single candle smells AMAZING. Seriously, I’ve never met a Rewined candle I didn’t like. I would even say it’s safe to buy any of their scents online without testing them first – they’re that good.
